01405 455 018Clearway provides boarding up services that secure vacant properties with durable materials to prevent unauthorised access and environmental damage. A boarding up service involves covering a building’s windows and doors with materials like plywood or steel sheets to prevent unauthorised access and protect against environmental damage, squatters and theft.
Damage to windows and doors through criminal damage or break-ins creates a highly visible vulnerability, and so boarding up services keep your premises safe from intruders.
In fact, the windows and doors are the most common entry points for those looking to break into a building – so it’s important to block access as quickly as possible. Clearway offers a fast and cost-efficient emergency boarding service to secure a vacant property.

Vacant properties carry variable risk levels, and so mitigating any potential for unauthorised access is essential. Unsecure entry points can give easy access to empty premises, making it a target of vandalism, theft, squatters and criminals. Even a long-term empty site can be a target of theft, especially if the property is furnished or contains valuable contents.
Boarding up makes a vacant premise unattractive to criminals, with physical barriers and screens over doors and windows, secured to the building with anti-tamper security screws.
Clearway offers a range of boards, screens and security doors, which are fitted by our professional team to ensure there is no damage to the framework, and that panels are cut to fit. Combined with services such as alarm systems, security guards, dog patrols and security monitoring, boarding up an empty site is a visible deterrent and a critical factor in preventing unwanted access.

We can offer two options on the cost of Sitex steel security shutters and temporary steel doors; a daily hire agreement or a one-off Advanced Rental cost.
Daily hire is cheaper if the property is likely to be vacant for a relatively short period. This is invoiced monthly and offers the lowest upfront cost. After a minimum hire period, the daily rental means that you only pay for security when you need it.
Advanced Rental gives peace of mind that costs are fixed for the duration the site is vacant. This one-off cost includes installation and free removal of the security equipment when it is no longer required.
Cost varies depending upon the number and size of vulnerable openings and access doors.
Installation of emergency steel anti-vandal security sheet is normally completed same-day except on very large properties.
Each opening is bespoke and cut to size on site to fit within the reveal or to completely overlap the opening. Normally a couple of hours is sufficient for the property to be made secure.
Clearway know that any vulnerable property must be protected as soon as possible to avoid vandalism, theft or squatting. We aim to be on site the next working day if possible and sometimes we can secure the property the same day.
Our unique anti-tamper fixings do need to be drilled into window frames or adjacent brickwork. The resulting holes can be filled by others.
As a result, we try to avoid installation into PVCu or Aluminium window frames as this affects warranties and water ingress. We can install internally or potentially remove glazing to install modular steel screens however this can cause a longer lead time.
