When DIY chain Homebase announced the closure of 42 of its stores across the UK, prominently placed retail units were left empty in town and city locations.

Homebase asked us to secure their site in Canterbury. The site needed to be secured quickly as it was deemed to be in a high-risk area where criminal damage and arson had been reported.

The large car park was a prime target for travellers to settle and potentially use the empty building to fly-tip waste, so concrete blocks were installed around the perimeter of the car park.

In January 2021, there were reports of vandalism and illegal entry when a rave took place in a vacant railway arch near the Olympic Stadium in London during the Covid pandemic lockdown.

Complaints by the public about the noise were made to both police and the landlord, the Arch Company, leading them to urgently need the site secured against future break-ins.

During the site survey, concerns were raised that the recommended security measures may cause damage to the exterior of the railway arch because of its old brickwork.

The canal towpath adjacent to Scrubbs Lane on the Paddington Arm of the Grand Union Canal in London has been a challenging site for the Canal & River Trust for a number of years.

Boats have been repeatedly fly-tipping along this stretch, and the area has become a magnet for fly-tipping and littering, including hazardous waste, pressurised containers, oils, old mattresses and more.
