Background
The client, a private landowner, was facing frequent and unauthorised use of a private access road by multiple lorries. With the road situated on rural land and no mains power connection available, a traditional CCTV setup wasn’t a viable option. The client needed a flexible, reliable, and self-sufficient security solution that would allow them to monitor vehicle movements and protect their property—without relying on hardwired infrastructure.
Solution
Clearway’s team installed a CCTV Tower system featuring a solar-powered energy source and long-life battery backup, making it fully self-sufficient and ideal for remote environments. The tower was equipped with a 4G-enabled PTZ (Pan, Tilt, Zoom) camera, offering full control of surveillance angles and real-time video footage, even from a distance.
Remote monitoring was enabled via a secure 4G connection, allowing the client to self-monitor activity from any location using a mobile device or desktop. The PTZ function means the client can zoom in on vehicle number plates, driver behaviour, or unusual activity—all without being on-site.
Outcome
With the tower in place, the client now has complete visibility over the use of the private road. The solar-powered setup ensures 24/7 performance without the need for manual intervention or utility connection. The ability to monitor in real-time from anywhere provides peace of mind and has already reduced unauthorised use.
