Key information
Scope of project: ANPR technology
Area: Swansea
Services: Solar CCTV Towers, ANPR
Background
A major distribution company utilises a rota system to manage on-site parking, allocating groups of employees to either the main car park or the overflow area based on their shift patterns. However, enforcing this system has proven challenging, resulting in capacity issues and inefficiencies in parking management. The client approached Clearway to provide a more effective and less labour-intensive solution to the problem.

Solution
Clearway implemented an innovative solution utilising its inView solar-powered CCTV Tower integrated with a custom Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) module. This system captures every vehicle entering the site and cross-references it against a database of authorised vehicles, and their assigned shift patterns, to determine whether they should park in the main car park or the overflow area.
The system generates automated reports that are sent directly to the operational team. These reports highlight vehicles that are not adhering to the parking rules, enabling swift identification and corrective action.

Outcome
The deployment of the Clearway solar CCTV and custom ANPR solution has resulted in significant benefits for the client, including:
- Improved compliance with parking rules, significantly reducing capacity issues.
- Streamlined enforcement as the automated system eliminated the need for manual monitoring.
- Enhanced operational efficiency with real-time data and actionable reports enabling Amazon’s team to manage parking effectively.
- The Client’s account administrators can modify the shift patterns as well as the list of associated vehicles to ensure that the data is always up to date.
