This accreditation means that our Alarm Response Centre (ARC), which provides all alarm monitoring and response services, has met the highest standards set by the National Security Inspectorate (NSI).

How Do You Handle False Alarms?

What Is the Difference Between ARC Monitoring and Self-Monitored Systems?

Self-monitored systems rely on the individual owner or manager, or the personnel or users on a site, to react when an alarm sounds. That usually means if the alarm activates overnight, the allocated keyholder receives an automated call or text and is expected to attend and confirm if the alarm is genuine or not and turn it off if so.

There are significant risks involved in self-monitoring, including delayed responses to authentic fire alarms and break-ins, putting staff and untrained personnel in harm’s way when confronting criminals, and ignoring alarm notifications under the assumption they aren’t genuine.

ARC monitoring is continual, in force 24/7, and means professional responders can assess the reasons for the alarm or other alert and react accordingly, without ever asking an unqualified person who is not trained to professional security levels to attend.
