Key information
Scope of project: Residential flats
Area: Wakefield, Yorkshire
Services: Emergency Boarding Up // Security Doors & Window Screens
Background
Our team was called to a property site that had been earmarked for demolition. As it was being knocked down there was a requirent for physical security to be put into place.

Solution
We used galvanised, perforated 1.2mm thick sheet, cut on site, and installed in the windows reveals.
The main entrance was also secured with a steel security door.
Outcome
From getting the instruction to completing the work, the job was completed in less than 24 hours, giving our customers peace of mind that the property was free from the threat of vandalism and theft. This allowed the client to focus their resources on other matters.
The client was very satisfied and said: “I have been to site today and you have done a great job on the coach house. I look forward to your proposals for the other two buildings. Once I have these we can decide on the level of inspection visits as well.“
Keep your demolion property secure
Securing a property before demolition is a critical step that’s often overlooked—but it plays a vital role in ensuring safety, compliance, and cost control. Vacant sites awaiting demolition can quickly become targets for trespassers, squatters, and metal thieves, especially if valuable materials or equipment have been left behind. Unauthorised access not only delays timelines but also poses serious health and safety risks to both the intruders and your contractors.
By securing the site in advance, developers and contractors can prevent incidents that lead to liability claims, environmental damage, or project disruption. Solutions like steel security doors, hoarding, CCTV towers, and remotely monitored alarms help maintain full control over the property until demolition begins. It also ensures compliance with insurance requirements and local authority expectations around site safety and public protection. In short, effective pre-demolition security helps you stay ahead of problems—before they get expensive.
